Get Involved with ‘ISF’ Earth Summit 2012 Rio+20
What is the Earth Summit 2012 also known as RIO+20?
The Earth Summit is a campaign that will take place on June 20-22, 2012 (dates may change) in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. This UN Conference is about developing a plan for Sustainable Development. What is Sustainable Development? It is patterns of consumption and production that replenish the environment instead of depleting it’s resources. The Conference is also about creating a Law of Mother Nature. What is the Law of Mother Nature? It’s giving the environment the same right’s as humans have. If this protocol passes, there will be 11 new rights granted to nature. They include the right to to continue vital cycles and processes free from human alteration, the right to pure water and clean air, the right to a balanced environment, the right for mother earth not to be polluted, and the right not to have cellular structure modified for genetic change. The Law will ensure preservation in a form that ensures the earth will be protected and respected, and not to be “affected by mega- infrastructures and development projects that affect the balance if ecosystems and the local inhabitant communities.” It also is committed to giving communities new legal powers to monitor and control polluting industries; it also allows people to regulate industries at a national, regional and local level.
The first draft of the law states Mother Earth “is sacred, fertile, and the source of life that feeds and cares for all living beings in her womb. She is in permanent balance, harmony and communication with the cosmos. She is comprised of all ecosystems and living beings and their self organization.”

‘The Story of Stuff’ – The United States isn’t Broke?!
The Story of Stuff STILL Turning the Movie into a Movement! with The Story of Broke
The United States isn’t broke; we’re the richest country on the planet and a country in which the richest among us are doing exceptionally well. But the truth is, our economy is broken, producing more pollution, greenhouse gasses and garbage than any other country. In these and so many other ways, it just isn’t working. But rather than invest in something better, we continue to keep this ‘dinosaur economy’ on life support with hundreds of billions of dollars of our tax money. The Story of Broke calls for a shift in government spending toward investments in clean, green solutions—renewable energy, safer chemicals and materials, zero waste and more—that can deliver jobs AND a healthier environment. It’s time to rebuild the American Dream; but this time, let’s build it better. ~ Twitter @storyofstuff
