Portugal Campaigns on the Go Green Challenge

Go Green Challenge – IS Foundation Portugal United

In behalf of Ian Somerhalder Foundation, many countries around the world are joining forces and will save acres of forest, plant trees and adopt an endangered species. This ambitious project, with three different phases, is going to happen at the same time everywhere in the world.

C+Planeta Society (IS Foundation Portugal Support) proposes for the three different phases of the challenge:

1 – Save an Acre

-    We are going to support Conservation International.
-    Every year, the burning and slashing of forests releases immense amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. This forest loss affects all of us, regardless of where we live.
-    Over the past three years, Conservation International has conserved 143 million acres of tropical forest.
-    Our goal is to help Conservation International to conserve at least 33 acres.
-    For only 15€ (US$20) you can help us protecting one acre of forest.

Branching out for a Green Economy by Sir David Attenborough

If you haven’t heard about our Go Green Challenge: Be The Drop – Push The Green Wave, then welcome to the one place where the IS Foundation ultimate goal is to help green up our planet. The online community and social media buzz has been so supportive in joining this world wide campaign to branch out to our local communities and put them on notice, that a global problem needs a global solution and a global response.

Pavan Sukhdev, UNEP Green Economy Initiative says, “We are the first generations of leaders who have the chance to take decisive action and probably the last generation who have the option not to do so.”

We invite you on this journey with Sir David Attenborough Britain’s best-known natural history film-maker. His narration “Branching Out For A Green Economy”will answer the what, why and how we can develop a green economy, a green planet and the important on taking on our Green Challenge & Push the Green Wave.

Defenders & Warriors GOAL is to PROTECT
250 Acres + 3,650 Trees Planted + 10 Endangered Species

We want to leave the right footprint in this fight against deforestation.

ISF Chapters have been making a united effort since the birth of Ian Somerhalder Foundation. We find ourselves at Defenders and Warriors constantly inspired by these efforts, so much we decided that nothing like a huge impact than one that starts within your own country (home land). To participate see the following steps:

STEP 1
Select (3) Three Options to choose from

1. Protect an acre in your OWN country, plant trees & Save and endangered species in your own country
2. Protect an acre in Conservation International, plant trees & Save and endangered species in your own country
3. Protect an acre in your OWN country AND Conservation International, plant trees & Save and endangered species in your own country

Remember, the Goal is to ‘Challenge’ yourselves, many of the twitter ISF Countries are uniting together and have chose Option (3) for their Go Green Challenge. Infact, we encourage it, if you decide to do this why not make a BIG IMPACT.
